NICET Level 2 Fire Alarm Systems Practice Exam

The frequency with which the integrity of a call forwarding feature must be verified is critical for ensuring the reliability of fire alarm communication systems. When a Digital Alarm Communicator Transmitter (DACT) contacts a line that has been forwarded to a Digital Alarm Communicator Receiver (DACR), it is essential to verify that this call forwarding is functioning correctly.

The requirement for checking this every 4 hours aligns with many industry standards and best practices for fire alarm systems. This regular verification ensures that, in the event of an alarm, the signal can be transmitted effectively without delay or failure due to improper forwarding. Maintaining a routine check at this interval helps in identifying potential issues early, thereby preserving the integrity of the alarm system and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Periodic verification at this frequency is sufficient to balance the need for reliability with the practical aspects of monitoring, making 4 hours the appropriate choice for this scenario.
